The client has two roles open for the Machine Learning Engineers on the team with one role of a Sr Engineer who are independent, creative and can coach the younger teammates. The other role is of a mid/ jr level engineer.
As the Machine Learning technical lead in the Data Science Team, you will partner with the Engineering team to build mission-critical ML solutions in production and at-scale. In particular:
- You will work with data science to understand the prototype ML solutions.
- You will propose and evaluate ways to implement the prototypes keeping scale, flexibility and engineering constraints in mind.
- You will devise and implement processes to measure the health of and otherwise maintain the ML system.
- You will lead a team of software engineers to build your solution and be able to prioritize and break up projects into meaningful milestones.
- You will be the resident expert in state-of-the-art ML systems and infrastructure.
- You will present your finds to leadership and be able to discuss design tradeoffs.
Requirements:
- BS in Machine Learning or MS in Engineering, Physics, Math plus 5+ years work experience in a tech company
- Demonstrated experience building production ML systems
- Fluency in Python, Tensorflow, SQL, GCP, Jupyter Notebooks
- Experience evangelizing best practices and process improvements on your team
Nice to Haves:
- MS in Machine Learning or PhD in Engineering plus 3+ years work experience in a software company
- Experience coaching others to improve technical outputs
- Excellent communication skills: able to synthesize, simplify and explain complex problems to different types of audiences from reports to peers to executives
